Ingredients
- Coriander seeds
- Chilli
- Ginger
- Fennel seeds
- Cumin seeds
- Black pepper
- Kasuri methi
- Cinnamon
- Clove
- Star anise
- Salt & Spices all in dry powder form
- Contain Cotton seed oil
Method
- Soak 1 cup whole black urad dal overnight.
- Pressure cook with salt and a big piece of ginger until the dal is completely soft and starting to burst.
- Mash some of the dal against the sides of the pot to release the starch.
- Add 1 cup of cooked tomato puree and 2 tbsp Galaji Black Dal Bukhara Masala.
- Add a generous "white" layer—1/2 cup butter and 1/2 cup fresh cream. his is the key.
- Let the dal simmer on the lowest possible heat for at least 30-45 minutes (stirring occasionally) until it turns deep, dark chocolate brown and creamy.
- Adjust salt and finish with a final dollop of butter.
- Serve with Tandoori Roti or Naan.
- For Onion/Garlic Lovers: Sauté 1 tsp of finely minced garlic in butter until it just starts to turn golden before adding the tomato puree and cooked dal.
